A Quinn-triguing Leaf Pile

See what I did there?  “Quinn-triguing”?

Quinn has never enjoyed the many delights of fall before, so I thought it high time she become very familiar with leaves.  Next on the list are Pumpkin Spiced Lattes from Starbuckets (that’s what Rylan calls Starbucks).   Actually, PSL’s should be next on MY list, since I have also never tried it.   However, I don’t feel like I am missing very much either.  So there’s that.

Getting back on track…while Rylan was supposed to be napping, I took Quinn out in our backyard (only our yard for one more week!) for a leaf pile/photo shoot, since I haven’t been taking many pictures lately, and she is 8 months old, after all.

As usual, you can click on the picture for even MORE of Quinn vs. the leaf pile.  She had a surprisingly good time, and didn’t even try to eat a single leaf! Amazing!

Quinn is very talkative, in a very forceful type of way.  She just needs to let you know that she is there!  She is always blabbing about something, loudly.  What does that say about her future I wonder?

I think she is almost crawling, but I thought that about Rylan at this age for about two months.  So who really knows?  At this point all I’ve noticed is that she seems more interested than she has in the past of the prospect of being somewhere other than where she is!  I think all she needs to get going is a little more arm strength to hold herself up.  She is generally always happy, even by herself which is nice.

Well, that’s about it for Quinn.  Kevin, Rylan and I all love her bunches, and we are really excited to do the whole holiday festivities for the rest of the year with our four person family!

Halloween

Well I’m finally getting around to posting pictures from Halloween last weekend.  I don’t really care about Halloween as a holiday, but it is super fun to see the kids enjoy it.  Rylan dressed up as a lion, he also contemplated being a “rock star” (that’s what he calls himself when he wears Quinn’s 6 month sized shorts and dances around the house), but I thought that might be a little cold!  I also encouraged the lion costume because I had actually bought it for him last year, but he was too afraid to actually wear it.  Fortunately this past year has made him a little braver.  Quinn dressed up as a little duckling, because it was cute and at Goodwill for a few dollars.  That’s about all I’m willing to spend on this holiday, and they were SO CUTE!

Early in the day we went out for coffee (Rylan had to wear his lion suit at the coffee shop), carved pumpkins (Rylan’s first time!  He’s really terrible at it, I had to do the whole thing myself!), going over to Yams and Grandz’s house for a BSU football game and naptime, and then trick or treating over in the Kingsbury’s neighborhood, where we truly raked in ridiculous amounts of candy…mostly full sized candy bars too!  I think we found the jackpot in that little neighborhood!

Halfway through trick or treating, Quinn fell asleep in my arms, which was cute but she gets heavy!

And of course, Auntie dressed up with the kids too:

After we got home that night we put the candy basket up on the kitchen counter and Rylan never mentioned it again.  After a few days of Kevin and I helping ourselves, I just threw it all away so we wouldn’t get too fat!  I can’t keep candy or snacks in my house because there’s this thing called “self control” that I don’t have figured out yet.
